Atticus is back for his first day of school since the surgery today. I still can’t believe how quickly he has recovered.
In celebration, I have prepared a little video with a site called Animoto. This was really easy to do. I think I’ll keep making these very week or so. Make sure to have your volume up to get the full effect.Appointment with cardiologist
Atticus was in and out of his appointment with the cardiologist in record time today.
He received a clean bill of health. They took an X-ray, performed an EKG reading and took a look with the echocardiogram. They even removed his stitches from the chest tube. Everything looked fine. Atticus will go back in two months and then will just need to be checked out every two years after that.
He still has to keep his activity level down for one more week. So, no swimming or going to the park right now.
My parents are down, so they helped RaDonna with the little guys this morning. It is nice to know that she has help on days like today when I can’t get out of the office. They will also provide extra eyes while at Whole Foods today.
Also, thanks to Kenny for putting up the Team Atticus cafepress store. Kenny gave Atticus a shirt last year that he made from on the site. We will be ordering a bigger size soon. Also my parents want shirts. You know you want a shirt to0, so click on that think at the left and get to ordering.
One week ago
Atticus was in surgery one week ago. It is really hard to believe.
RaDonna called me this morning to tell me he was outside in the back yard chasing bubbles around. I have said it a few times, but it is really hard to believe he had major surgery so recently.
He will have his follow-up appointment later this week with the cardiologist.

Atticus has been doing great since getting home from the hospital. He is feeling good and doesn’t act like anything is bothering him. Although, he is having a very hard time sleeping through the night. It has made for some long nights for me and RaDonna. Hopefully we will all get to sleep straight through tonight.
As you probably have noticed, I have changed up the site design. Let me know what you think of it. It seems a little more appropriate for a site about a little boy. I also have bought teamatticus.com. It currently just points to ths site. I guess we will go to it soon, since it is tough to call a 3-foot, 3-inch child a baby. A long day
Atticus had a nice first full day back at home. He enjoyed his last day with both sets of grandparents around.
He also had a wonderful visit from his Uncle Randy, Aunt Michelle and his cousins Reese and Donnie. He played and had fun with all of them.
He is just a bundle of energy. He keeps wanting to climb over the back of the couch.
We are home
We are all home now. Nana, Papa, Ta Ta and Bear are here with us too. It is great to be out of the hospital and at our home.
Atticus is a bundle of energy. He is playing and running and having fun.

Going home today
Had two x-rays this morning and vital signs look good.
We should be cleared for departure this afternoon.
I think we are all looking forward to getting home.
I can’t really believe how energetic and happy Atticus is after having the operation just days ago.

A wonderful day
Atticus had a great day. He had visits from Kenny and Lauren. He capped off the evening with dinner with his grandparents.
He is laughing and running and playing. It is hard to believe that he had surgery two days ago.
We should be heading home tomorrow around lunch time. Atticus’ doctor competes in a triathlon in the morning and then will come in and release him if everything still looks good.
We received a great gifts from Uncle Howard, Aunt Barbara, Derek, Kevin, Angela and boys. He also received gifts from his classmates at Mitchell’s Place. The folks at al.com sent a wonderful card as well.
Good morning
Atticus has had a very good morning. He ran around outside of his room and rode in the big car. He had visits from his grandparents and friends from school. He even colored and played with blocks today.
He ate a good lunch. Then laid his head down and went to sleep.
